About Me

My photo
We are now in Oz after two amazing years of traveling Europe in our home built plane. We met many fantastic people who we are proud to call friends and have gained a much better understanding of the similarities and differences between the cultures of the different European states as well as the history and geography that have lead to these differences. We enjoy meeting people with similar interests to ourselves and learning more about other cultures. Please let us know if you're going to be in Queensland and would like to catch up for a meal and a chat.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber airfield review

I really cannot recommend Rothenburg ob der Tauber airfield highly enough.  Where would you like me to start: with the friendly people; the 2-3km walk into the stunning medieval walled city; the wood fired pizzas at the on-site pizzeria; or the most reasonable fees (around 4-5€ per landing)?

If you are only going to make it to one airfield in Germany, I would probably make it this one, as it just has it all.  Hmm I suppose except for asphalt if your plane requires that.

Another great thing about this airfield is that it is owned privately by the club, which means that no matter what happens in the area it's safe from developers' sticky fingers.  Fabulous.  Go there.

Ambience 10/10
Friendliness 10/10
Location 10/10
Costs: €6 landing, parking over 10h €4.50
